
In April 2006, EMERGENCY opened a clinic in Palermo (Sicily), in order to provide free of charge health care to all immigrants (irrespective of immigration status), as well as to local residents in need.
With the exception of a few medical and non-medical personnel, most of the medical, paramedical and administrative staff at the clinic is made up of a corps of volunteers.
This program was undertaken in full agreement with the local health authorities who donated and renovated the structure, completely free of charge.
