Nyala Pediatric Center

Nyala is the capital of the South Darfur state, a city whose million and a half inhabitants are mainly refugees fleeing from war, living in the 7 camps scattered around the city suburbs. EMERGENCY's pediatric center in Nyala started its activities on July 5th, 2010. The Center, open 24 hours a day, offers basic healthcare to children up to 14 years old and hygienical and sanitary education activities for the families. EMERGENCY also provides training to the national staff members, both theoretical and practical.
 

The Center is part of the Regional pediatry and cardiac surgery program; cardiologists in Nyala will screen candidates for cardiac surgery in Khartoum at the Salam Center, and will take care of the patients at every step following their intervention.
