EMERGENCY USA – Life Support for Civilian Victims of War and Poverty invites volunteers to participate in increasing awareness and inspiring public support of medical interventions on behalf of families and communities in crisis because of war and poverty. 

 

Volunteers for EMERGENCY USA support high standard medical care, provided free of charge, without discrimination, in response to the injuries suffered by those who are poor, displaced, and struggling for survival in the most devastated regions around the world.

These positive, ethical actions are possible thanks to volunteers around the world who tirelessly dedicate time, talents, ingenuity, funding, and steadfast enthusiasm to this mission.

EMERGENCY USA's activities in the United States are inspired by the integrity and accomplishments represented by the international NGO, EMERGENCY, which has operated privately and independently since its founding in Italy in 1994.  EMERGENCY distinguishes itself by building regional centers of excellence, empowering people affected by conflict to take an active role in project development and by bringing hope that health care service can reach beyond walls to heal communities.

It is important to note that EMERGENCY USA does not recruit personnel on a volunteer basis for international humanitarian medical operations.   Qualified medical and non-medical staff are employed according to operational needs.
