Graduation of the 47 Health Volunteers we’ve Trained at the Mayo camp

In the Mayo refugee camp in Khartoum, Sudan, we’ve trained 47 volunteers who’ll be working as community health monitors, promoting health and preventive medicine. Thanks to the training they’ve received, they’re now able to recognize any signs of danger or of the need for treatment in the children who live in the camp. This means they can detect illnesses in their initial phase and send the children at risk to our Pediatric Center to be examined.

The community health monitors are part of the 3-year projectCommunity participation to strengthen basic maternal and pediatric health services in Mayo camp“, co-financed by the European Delegation in Khartoum (EuropeAid).

As per tradition, we had a traditional group photo after the presentation of the diplomas, followed by dancing, singing and performances with relatives, friends and members of the community!
