A total of 22 patients, including 20 women, have been received at EMERGENCY's Surgical Centre for War Victims in Kabul following the suicide attack that took place this morning, 30 September.
One child at a time, one life at a time, midwives are an essential part of creating a safe environment for women and newborns.
..and EMERGENCY knows this well. At the Anabah Maternity Centre in Afghanistan, our midwives have been doing an extradordinary job ever since we opened in 2003.
It has been a long journey to where we are now, with over 600 births at the Centre every month, but we continue to work towards our goal of assuring female healthcare support across the region and beyond. Our incredibly committed midwifery team play a huge part.
Thanks to you and to all midwives around the world 🎀
