The Paris Peace Forum Has Chosen EMERGENCY’s Work This Year.
This Wednesday marks the beginning of the 2020 edition of the Paris Peace Forum, and EMERGENCY is proud to be taking part.
Our own practice of peace has always consisted in providing free and high-quality medical and healthcare in fragile contexts affected by war, poverty and epidemics. We have continued to do this throughout the coronavirus pandemic – all made possible by a replicable model of safety and protective measures that we put in place during the Ebola crisis in 2014, and that was rapidly adapted, launched and shared as COVID-19 gripped the world.
The Paris Peace Forum has chosen EMERGENCY’s work this year as one of their #SolutionsforPeace, alongside other people, initatives and organisations who strive towards creating a better, more peaceful planet.
Amongst hundreds of world-renowned speakers, EMERGENCY’s president Rossella Miccio will speak to the Forum on Thursday 12 November, presenting how we have and will continue to do our part during the coronavirus crisis.
This unprecedented crisis is also an opportunity for profound change. We cannot afford to waste this moment, which invites us to ask ourselves what kind of society we want to be. We cannot just pick up where we left off. We have the chance to come up with new ways of sharing resources, to redefine the values that unite us and to help build a more just and fairer world, one human right at a time. The Paris Peace Forum is an important opportunity to make this a reality and EMERGENCY is honoured to play its part.
