MOMOH, 5, DEFEATED EBOLA
An ambulance brought him to our #Ebola Treatment Centre 3 weeks ago along with his mother, who was dead on arrival.
His father had died a few days before.
His condition was very bad: he suffered from vomiting, diarrhoea, high fever. The only way to administer liquid was intravenously.
Gradually, he began to drink from a syringe and he started recovering.
A week later we moved him into the tent for recovering patients: he was very angry, standing aside and refusing to eat.
After a few days he began to accept some bread, then baby food, then fried fish.
With a lot of effort, he finally started walking again and in the end he was discharged.
When his uncle came to pick him up at the centre, all of our staff went to the gates to say goodbye.
